The Accounting Coordinator (Payroll) is primarily responsible for processing payroll for the entire organization, ensuring benefit payments are made and reconciled in a timely manner, and performing core accounting functions that support operations.
Accounting Coordinator – Payroll
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers – Columbus, GA
The Accounting Services department is currently looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator. Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.’s Accounting Coordinator (Payroll) responsibilities:
Responsible for the payroll cycle from timesheet to paycheck, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Processes pay card enrollment forms, inputs wage garnishments and files necessary answers.
Reviews timesheets and time reports and works closely with leadership and support staff to address any unresolved or pending items to complete payroll.
Creates all payroll related journal entries.
Responsible for working closely with HR (People Services) to verify and pay all benefits such as medical, dental, vision, FSA, 401k, supplemental insurance, etc.
Ensures all payroll, benefit related items, and month end reports are completed.
Completes all assigned bank and account reconciliations in a timely manner and with accuracy.
Assists leaders and team members with payroll related inquiries.
Ensures all quarterly and annual items are completed.
Completes reports and data gathering as assigned.
Requirements:
Level of knowledge normally gained through the completion of an undergraduate degree; preferred concentration in finance or accounting.
Minimum of five years of accounting experience, specifically in payroll
Excellent computer skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong time-management and communication skills
Experience with accounts payable, preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
