Job Description
We're looking for a skilled SCADA engineer to join our team. In this role, you will install, configure, and commission SCADA systems for power distribution and generation facilities. You will also be responsible for routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, database management, and system backups. A significant part of your job will be to monitor SCADA systems for performance issues and troubleshoot hardware or software problems as they occur. You will also collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system upgrades or modifications and provide training and technical support to end-users on SCADA system operation and maintenance. Regular site visits to assess equipment condition, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions will also be part of your role. Documenting all activities, including installation procedures, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting steps is crucial to the position. Adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations while working in field environments is mandatory. Staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends related to power SCADA systems is also expected.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
-Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
-Previous experience working with Power SCADA systems in a field technician role is highly desirable.
-Proficiency in PLC ladder logic, scripting, protection relay configuration and familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
-Familiarity with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, GE Proficy, Siemens WinCC).
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
-Willingness to travel to client sites and work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Columbia, Maryland.
Work Environment
Our team is dynamic, with each employee wearing multiple hats. Work hours are flexible, with everyone setting their own schedule. Overtime is compensated. All work is performed in the office environment.
