Description
We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist situated in Columbia, Maryland. This role involves a range of accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing accounts payable, performing bank reconciliations, and utilizing QuickBooks as a primary tool.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts payable function to ensure timely payment of invoices and accurate recording in the general ledger
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to validate the company's cash position
• Utilize QuickBooks for efficient and accurate financial management and reporting
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Support month-end and year-end close process
Requirements
• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
• Proven experience in Accounts Payable
• Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations
• A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
