Description
Robert Half has teamed up with a Colorado Springs based company to find a Staff Accountant. In this role, you will be meticulously handling complex journal entries, maintaining fixed asset systems, and assisting with audits and reporting. This role involves a blend of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions including collections, month-end closing activities, and financial statement preparation. Responsibilities:
• Handle complex journal entries into the general ledger on a regular basis.
• Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Oversee the fixed asset system and keep fixed asset files up-to-date.
• Manage Accounts Payable tasks, including invoice processing, payment of vendor invoices, and preparation of weekly cash disbursement files.
• Conduct weekly and monthly credit card reconciliations.
• Develop efficient credit card and invoice processing systems.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and compiling financial statements.
• Complete monthly closing activities, ensuring accurate posting of journals.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of sales and use tax filings.
• Assist Accounts Receivable in researching and posting of customer payments.
• Support Accounts Receivable with customer document requests.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger management and Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
• Experience in Coding Invoices
• Understanding of Sales Tax regulations and usage of Sales & Use Tax software
• Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation
• Ability to perform Account Reconciliation
• Experience in Cash Collections
• Knowledge of Epicor ERP software or other ERP systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
