Focus on the Family Relationship Services SPECIALIST, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) position exists to engage with our constituents through social media profiles. Will engage with and respond to constituent comments and/or messages on various social media platforms. Employs best response practices for social media platforms while engaging with FOTF’s social media audiences. Helps to identify viral trending comments to enable quick responses from the ministry when necessary. Stays up to date on Content Producer articles and their anticipated responses. Uses anticipated responses with discernment and as necessary.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Creates quality responses to social media comments and direct messages in alignment with style guides using discernment on the following platforms, ( YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (aka Twitter) and other platforms as defined by social media leadership team
Identifies spam messages and takes appropriate action
Communicates FOF orthodoxy using proto responses with personalization and original writing for the pre-determined Key Ministry Indicators (KMI’s) and priorities
Discerns what constitutes a response to a comment or direct message
Ministers through empathetic responses that drive authentic engagement utilizing Focus on the Family's values and resources
Communicates with empathy in complex emotional situations, accountable for legal & ethical boundaries in response
Searches for and applies procedures for all response types using the current knowledge management database
Stays up to date on Content Producers’ recommended article responses
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Required to work from home on snow delays, early closures, or full closure days
Required to work overtime when ministry needs arise
May have the option to work from home on department designated hybrid days
Performs other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Office/Production environment performed at individual workstations or workstations at home
Ability to understand conversational atmosphere of social media
Fast paced, high stress, frequent changes in process and procedures
Repetitive motion
Ability to respond to changes in procedures and style guides
Ability to perform keying functions for 70% of the time or more
Ability to type proficiently minimum 45 words per minute
Sitting for extended periods of time
Ability to work evening and weekend shifts as required
Ability to speak, hear and see clearly
Ability to maneuver multiple computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Sprout Social (or similar) etc.)

Knowledge/Experience:
Associate’s degree or two years of college preferred
2-4 years of Social Media response or related experience preferred
Knowledgeable in Social Media venues

Requires minimal supervision, follows standard practices, referring questionable matters to the Community Manager, Social Media Response

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong discernment skills and good common-sense reasoning
Ability to discern when prayer is needed and to pray when asked according to guidelines
Pay Range: $22.00 to $25.25/hr
