Job Description
The Industrial Sewer/Seamstress is responsible for the manufacturing of custom sewn products as assigned. Responsibilities include accurately reading and interpreting basic patterns, cutting, measuring, and sewing, working with industrial sewing machines and industrial cutting equipment as needed. Precision and a good eye for detail are a must.
Core tasks: Daily sewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed) Accurately interpreting and following simple patterns with minimal supervision Marking and cutting simple patterns Marking products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying information Inspecting finished products for quality and accuracy Folding and packing completed products
Requirements: Able to confidently use an industrial sewing machine with minimal supervision, sewing at a speed of at least 22" per minute including top stitch on lightweight fabrics, able to handle difficult materials and sew foam, spandex, oversized or heavy weight materials. Basic English communication preferred including vocabulary necessary to ask and answer questions in a manufacturing context Adequate mathematics skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to frequently lift/carry 75lbs. May be required to remain stationary, stand, sit and/or bend frequently for extended periods of time. Constantly delivers high quality finished product in a timely matter.
