The City of Coffeyville is hiring for the position of Wastewater Apprentice Utility 1st Year. This is entry level class in the Wastewater Utility Maintenance Series.
POSITION DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Assist in construction, maintenance and repair of wastewater lines; respond to leaks, stoppages and calls after hours and week-ends; operate all types of equipment needed for maintaining and repairing wastewater lines.
- Ability to work outside in extreme conditions, frequent heavy lifting over 50#.
- Must complete apprenticeship program that consists of bookwork, testing and on the job training to achieve journeyman certification.
TO BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY YOU MUST:
- Meet the city residency requirement and reside within the State of Kansas and within 25 miles of 7th & Walnut in Coffeyville, and be able to respond to work within 40 minutes.
- Take a written aptitude test.
