ABOUT THE ROLE: The Manual Testing Analyst role is responsible for assisting in identifying, analyzing, and reporting defects in software applications/products. The objective of this role is to ensure that the software application/product functions as intended, meets business requirements, and is reliable for end-users. This role is critical to the success of the software testing process as it requires supporting manual tests that ensure software applications and products are functioning properly. The individual collaborates with senior team members and cross functional teams to understand requirements and assist in developing a test plan that covers functionality, usability, performance, compatibility, security, and other aspects of software. The incumbent supports the communication of results to relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and quality releases. Ultimately, the incumbent will assist in the thorough testing of software applications/products manually before release to ensure compliance with the user's requirements and will support the identification of potential defects that could affect user experience or software efficiency. WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO: Understand the software application/product specifications, requirements, and user stories Improve and refine a test plan and test cases/scripts in alignment with acceptance criteria and application requirements Support the manual testing of the software for functionality, usability, performance, compatibility, security and other aspects of software Identify and analyze defects, document and report them effectively, and participate in discussions with cross-functional teams to address issues Collaborate with senior testers to define the metrics and KPIs needed to track the performance of the testing process Conduct analysis of application enhancements under senior guidance and suggest improvements Ensure all team members are aware of department documentation procedures and provide training as needed Work closely with senior testers to gather feedback and requirements from stakeholders and help ensure that these are incorporated into the software releases Participate in ongoing learning, attend relevant workshops or training, and share industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies knowledge with the team Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in software testing Preferred Certifications in Quality Assurance Skills and Experience 2-4 years of experience in manual testing of software applications/products Moderate understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, tools and techniques Knowledge of operating systems, databases, web technologies, APIs and scripting languages Experience in documenting test cases, tracking defects and reporting test results Experience in manual testing of web, desktop or mobile applications/products Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills Automated testing experience (Selenium, Cucumber, etc.) Previous SW Store or Retail experience Experience working in an Agile environment Technical Skills Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodology Project Management Methodology Test Management Tools Software Testing & Quality Assurance Methodologies & Tools Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
