As a Lab Pre Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for all employment related activities to include recruitment and performance evaluations. You will monitor budgets, fiscal performance, and quality assurance for pre-analytic areas of the laboratory. This position is vital to keeping our Community Hospital teams informed and up to date on department changes that impact on their operations. It is also key to helping remove obstacles for these teams to ensure they have the support and resources necessary to run their operations.

  • Has knowledge of financial reports and reports on budget variances.

  • Can maintain performance improvements for respective locations.

  • Has knowledge in Continuous Improvement tools.

  • Ensures compliance with regulations and SOP's.

This position requires local travel to all regional hospitals on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages department personnel and operations which includes staffing, training, work flow analysis and performance management.

  • Monitors quality and financial performance; justifies expense and revenue within departments.

  • Prepares annual operating and capital budgets.

  • Ensures efficient utilization of resources.

  • Ensures compliance with government health regulations, CAP guidelines, quality management program requirements and customer service standards.

  • Develops and maintains performance improvement; recommends enhancement and cost saving strategies.

  • Ensures operational problems are resolved and that remedial actions are taken whenever necessary.

  • Resolves interdepartmental issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application.

  • Develops and maintains department objectives and services.

  • Develops policies and procedures; ensures compliance.

  • Maintains instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.

  • Develops, monitors and implements programs to enhance customer service, develop skills and improve scope of service.

  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Certifications:

  • MLT or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) ASCP eligible preferred.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Three years of clinical laboratory management or supervisory experience required.

  • Minimum of five years of laboratory experience required.

  • Offset: Associate's degree, four years of supervisory or leadership experience, and five years of relative experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move and travel throughout the hospital system and, in some locations, off-site.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
