Job ID 12451 Location Case Main Campus Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Job Description POSITION OBJECTIVES Working independently under the Associate Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, this position will direct all aspects of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Centers (Case CCC) Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The overarching goal of the office is to develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve successful outcomes that create a culture of inclusive excellence. The director is responsible for diversity programming within the office and operationalizing the center's plan to enhance diversity and align/collaborate diversity, equity, and inclusion program and training initiatives with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence office of the dean as needed. The director will also oversee the office for diversity equity and inclusion webpage and dashboard and be responsible for the annual diversity report. Additionally, the director will assist with the facilitation of diversity training sessions, identify strategic partnerships and alliances, and represent the office on partner institution diversity equity and inclusion committees. In addition, the position will oversee compliance with the cancer center support grant funding opportunity announcement section on Plan to Enhance Diversity; a new required component of all National Cancer Institute designated cancer centers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide leadership by directing and overseeing the development, implementation and delivery of diversity and inclusion initiatives that foster an inclusive environment. Assist in the design, development and delivery of trainings, workshops, and seminars on inclusion across the cancer center. Serve on the cancer center diversity, equity, and inclusion taskforce and coordinate the meeting planning. Represent the cancer center's office for diversity equity and inclusion at meetings and functions as needed. Implement diversity programming that educates, promotes, and celebrates inclusion, diversity, and equity. Seek to create connections and support systems for historically underrepresented students, faculty, and staff of color. (25%) In collaboration with the associate director and the cancer center senior leadership team, direct the development and implementation of a holistic and comprehensive talent management framework and program to support cancer center and affiliate institutions diversity recruitment and retention of diverse leadership, faculty, trainees, and staff. Collaborate with partner institution diversity, equity, and inclusion offices and human resources, and department chairs in the development of inclusive hiring practices including but not limited to position description management and database management. Direct the implementation of faculty onboarding and new hire programming. Promote local, regional, and national partnerships and collaborations to facilitate and grow diversity in leadership, faculty, trainees, and staff. (25%) In collaboration with associate director, maintain and strengthen the longitudinal pathway programs. Plan, organize and promote programing designed to foster mentoring, professional development, and leadership development including but not limited to the long-term sponsorship program for trainees and the cancer center's Emerging Leaders Program. Provide resources and support to identify, secure, and develop funding opportunities to support scientific research projects for trainees across the entire continuum of pathway programs including but not limited to projects that address health disparities and are developed and executed through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.
