Jacobs Structural Design Engineering Technician in Clark, New Jersey
As a Structural Design Engineering Technician, you’ll have the chance to work on transportation projects that focus on bridge and other transportation structure design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians and engineers to create drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Using your experience, you’ll work with bridge engineers and project managers to provide top client service. You’ll also create layouts, sketches, and 2D/3D modeling and electronic drawing files for construction by utilizing you Microstation, AutoCAD, InRoads, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and other firm-provided resources to create detailed drawings of transportation structures.
This role will be paid at an hourly rate.
• Substantial years’ experience detailing bridges, laying out retaining walls, and detailing reinforcement and steel.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD
• Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat pdf software
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise or similar Document Management Software
• Solid teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• A two-year technical degree in CADD
• Experience with InRoads (or OpenRoads), AutoCAD Civil3D, and ProjectWise
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Structural steel detailing
• 3D CADD Modeling
