Cape May Convention Hall is seeking a Convention Hall and Recreation Operations and Maintenance. Under direction and supervision, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work; leads, organizes, and oversees recreational and special event programs and activities for an assigned group; may also manage the operation of the building used to hold these events; plans for effective utilization of available funds, personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies; maintaining and repairing the physical structure of buildings and utility systems, and maintaining buildings and grounds in a clean, orderly condition; does other related duties as required.
SPECIFIC AND REQUIRED TASKS INCLUDE: * Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of Convention Hall and Recreation Facilities * Take routine inventory of banquet supplies such as tables, chairs, linens, decorations, etc. * Responsible for setting up events and recreation facilities as directed, usually per the specification of banquet event orders and floorplans. * Reset the event venue and recreation facilities to its original state after event completion. * Responsibilities during events include venue maintenance, assisting vendors, transporting tables and equipment, reporting maintenance issues to management, and providing requested information to patrons and public. * Responsible for set ups such as dance floors, podiums, and other structures. * Assisting audio-visual personnel in setting up and operating equipment such as microphone and speakers, screen and projectors, sound and lighting, etc. * Responsible for onsite and offsite transport and storage of equipment. * Clean, organize, repair venues and recreation facilities including (but not limited to) Cape May Convention Hall, Cape May Elementary School, Kiwanis Park, Lafayette Street Park, Rotary Park, Methodist Church * Marketing (with assistance from Public Information Office and Director) * Internal Marketing Outlets * Poster Boxes * Posters/Brochures within City (ex. Convention Hall, City Hall, Local Businesses, Welcome Center)
