Description: A Tooling Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Cincinnati, OH. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits. Great matching candidates will have Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline. In this job, you will support tool tryouts for aircraft engines.
Job Duties:
-Review & understand technical data sheets
-Review & understand tooling drawings
-Attend scorecard / status meetings
-Learn how each tool works and what it does
-Coordinate meetings, tests & tryouts by involving stakeholders, site leaders, supervisors, engineers, mechanics & others
-Validate tooling to tech data sheets, CTQ"s & stakeholder requirements
-Direct mechanics during tool use & be able to provide answers to any questions they may have
troubleshoot & document any problems with tooling as they arise
-Navigate throughout GE campus locating misplaced or lost tooling
-Work closely with shipping dock and receiving to coordinate tooling movement to & from campus to outside vendors, MRO shops and anywhere else in world as needed
-Track and locate missing/damaged/reworked/updated tooling
-Provide input on improvements to tooling design, process, ergonomics etc
-Author technical documents that capture tool use results
-Coordinate ordering of tooling from on-wing support locations to sites where needed for trial
control internal movement of tooling
-Work with tool crib and carpenters union for construction of crates for large/unique tooling
-Author shipping documentation for domestic tooling shipments
-Create commercial invoices & author shipping docs for international shipments
-Understand import/export compliance
-Work with internal machine shops to rework tooling on site
-Travel to Peebles test operations, Batavia on wing support, CVG OWS, CTEC and various other locations to support tooling efforts
Required Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline
Skilled with Microsoft Office tools and possess some knowledge of modeling and analysis using one or more tools
Knowledge of industry standard practices and project organization; task supervision by
design/drafting personnel.
Experience with stress analysis, technical writing, and manufacturing process
Self-motivated, adaptable, highly organized and possess excellent communication abilities
Legal authorization to work in the US required and has or able to get security clearance
Preferred:
Experience with NX or other modeling software
Experience with ANSYS
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $58,240 to $66,560 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
