Insight Global Principal Platform Engineer in Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Description
A large financial organization is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer for a contract opportunity through the end of the year (with likelihood for extensions or conversion). This position can sit remotely (EST), but there is a strong preference for individuals local to Cincinnati that are able to come onsite downtown 4-5x week.
This individual will be working with an agile squad currently being build built out to support the company's payment services within their Treasury Management platform. They will play a crucial role in modernizing enterprise technology delivery.
* Collaborate with development teams to design, build, and maintain a resilient and secure engineering platform. This platform provides standardized, reusable tools and functionalities for software engineers.
* Help with infrastructure management components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance including SOME cloud services, containers, and orchestration tools
* Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
* Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align platform capabilities with business needs

Skills and Requirements
* 6-8+ years of experience within platform engineering:
* Deploying, integrating, configuring and supporting applications (payment services applications ++)
* Can deploy and run tests to make sure the integrations work
* Java (version 11+)
* Middleware (WebSphere or MQ)
* API Management / gateway- Experience creating, consuming, and integrating from API systems
* SQL * Banking industry experience -- Visa, Amex or specifically working within Payment services or transactions
* Cloud (AWS)
* Containerization experience
* Openshift null
