Patient Service Specialist

Responsible for all aspects of associated with obtaining documentation needed for patient office visits. Responsibilities include faxing equipment orders, scanning DME documentation and other documents as needed. Entering information into multiple outpatient systems. Other responsibilities include serving as a liaison with the patient and physician.

Ensures that all patients requiring documentation in chart of sleep studies or CPAP compliance have that information available at time of appointment (obtaining that information via calling patients, physician offices or sleep labs to obtain sleep study results or downloading CPAP results). Reviews and prepares chart for next day office schedule for all providers.

Assist with referral work que, scheduling patients and makes confirmation calls.

Has basic knowledge of CPAP and other equipment to assist patient in obtaining equipment timely. Works closely with DME companies to assist patients with obtaining equipment and problem solving.

Completes documentation of all patient calls and communication regarding patient care. Scans documents, sleep studies and DME information in chart. Faxes orders and all necessary documents to DME for equipment orders.

Proactively communicates issues or potential issues involving customer service and process improvement opportunities to management and providers.

Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others for concise and timely flow of information. Maintains stable performance under pressure and handles stress in ways to maintain relationships with patients, customers and co-workers.

Required minimum education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: two years of experience in a similar health care role.
