Description Service Technician


Position Identification Non-Exempt Reports to: The Service Technician is accountable to and derives authority from the Lead Service Technician. Position Objective The basic function of the Service Technician is to assist the Lead Service Technician to complete repairs to the specification of manufacturers and customers' satisfaction. Job Functions: The Service Technician will inspect the truck and keep it clean along with maintaining the inventory of materials, tools, equipment, and hardware needed to perform the assigned tasks on a daily basis. The Service Technician will be responsible for setting up and utilizing safety. The Service Technician is expected to learn the different types of roofing systems, their components, the materials, and tools used to repair them. The Service Technician is expected to learn to use those materials and tools to make the repairs required. Assume designated responsibilities of the Service Technician in his/her absence. Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential) The Service Technician should have excellent customer service abilities. The Service Technician should have working knowledge of and/or experience with roof system types. The Service Technician should have a willingness to learn how to properly diagnose and repair all roof systems. Must be able to work with and learn from fellow technicians and lead techs. Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable) High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Knowledge of roofing details, manufacturer specifications and repair procedures as defined by the NRCA. Proficiency with Tablets and Software such as Microsoft AX / Field Service Administration. Physical Effort: Extensive standing, walking, climbing ladders. Frequent lifting not to exceed 60 pounds.
