AISoftware Engineer

Position Summary

Thales is looking for an AI Software Engineer to work with AI scientists and lead development of AI system development with their guidance. Will work collaboratively to develop AI systems for exciting use-cases, primarily within the aerospace and defense domains. You will be working with the Thales team that is a leader in the field of interpretable and trustworthy AI. We have developed and are deploying a technology that offers AI models primarily for mission/safety-critical applications. We arelooking for a developer to take the lead of a smaller team on AI projects.

In this position, you will be accountable for an ownership mindset that iswilling to contribute at all levels to the product and helpwrite maintainable, clean, and well-documented code that will be deployed internally and externally in a variety of manners, environments, and languages.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • The software engineer must be able to lead and manage new developer hires for both completing project tasks as well as managing Quality Assurance and updates for software.
  • Primarily this work will be performed in C++, but the ability to adapt to a variety of languages is required. Experience with working with GPUs, primarily through CUDA, is a plus.
  • The position will require training in Thales' unique "Genetic Fuzzy Tree" AI approaches. Additionally, the Cincinnati office develops GFT AI Solutions for specific use-cases of clients, both internal and external. The ability to learn to develop complex GFT based AI solutions as part of a team, while being able to lead a smaller team to complete contracts is essential.

     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or Masters degree Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years experience with C++, CMake, Object Oriented Programming principles, Windows, Linux.
  • 2 years experience Python.
