Accountant, Associate

Our Cincinnati Curtiss-Wright site is looking for an Accountant to join their growing team! Our Accountants at the Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division Cincinnati location are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the accounting system in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines. As an Associate Cost Accountant, you will play a vital role within the assigned business segment supporting company accounting functions and responsibilities. You will be responsible for executing tasks in conformance with company policies, procedures, and financial standards. This position requires interaction with customers, suppliers, operations, quality assurance, sales, and management teams to support both domestic and international products and services.

Your Challenge:

  • Prepare journal entries; maintain and reconcile ledger accounts.

  • Analyze and assist in preparation of financial statements and other reports.

  • Collect data, allocate costs, and prepare reports on labor, equipment, reserves, assembly and/or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed.

  • Review, coordinate, and provide documentation to support various internal and external audit requirements.

  • Work with Shared Service Center and Center of Excellence on accounting tasks.

  • Review open and overdue accounts receivable and coordinate a collection schedule with customer for overdue balances.

  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing procedures.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting required.

  • 0-3 years accounting in a manufactured environment, general ledger accounting and analysis experience preferred.

  • MBA and CMA is a plus.

  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles in a standard cost environment and project costing.

  • Experience in POC / ASC606 accounting.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Ability to apply corporate accounting guidelines in addition to GAAP.

  • Experience in Syteline or Oracle systems preferred.

  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office software required especially Excel.

  • Strong communication (written and Oral) skills; Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to set priorities, work independently and bring issues to resolution.
