WTW Business Development & Technical Director in Christchurch, New Zealand
The Business Development & Technical Director will lead the management of Line of Business (LoB) P&L in New Zealand, working in partnership with the Financial Lines Leader. This role entails the management and development of client value propositions, driving IP/product development, and overseeing the geographic LoB new business pipeline and sales opportunities. The Business Development & Technical Director will collaborate closely with other geography and client/sales leaders, as well as team members, to implement effective business development strategies. Additionally, they will contribute significantly to the overall growth of the portfolio and maximize revenue opportunities by collaborating effectively across the entire organisation.
The Role
Drive line of business P&L in New Zealand in collaboration with Financial Lines Leader
Support the Financial Lines leader in managing and developing the geographic Financial Lines team
Manage new business pipeline and sales opportunities, working closely with the team, geographic and business leaders, Client and Industry leaders, Client Relationship Directors/Account Directors, Broking leaders
Oversee marketing efforts within the geography
Drive regional client value proposition, IP and product development
Collaborate effectively with other Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) and business leaders
Focus on P&L including revenue growth and direct cost management
Work with other geographic business leads, Client Relationship Directors and broking leads to drive overall geography growth and profitability
Generation of new business and cross-selling opportunities that contribute to the continued growth of the team
Collaborate effectively with others across the whole business to drive revenue growth and profitability
The Requirements
Experienced Financial Lines technical expert
Excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of developing people
Strong skills in problem-solving, planning and budgeting
High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy and change management
Proven track record of delivering new business against challenging sales targets
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence within a matrix environment
Strong facilitation skills with the ability to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement
Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to act as an ambassador for the Company
Level 5 financial services certificate
