Mountain Top Inn & Resort located at 195 Mountain Top Road Vermont 05737 seeks four (4) full-time Temporary Prep/Line Cook who will be responsible for:

  • Prepare food for daily line service. Food prepared for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Menu items prepared are appetizers, entrees and desserts. These items include but are not limited to a range of foods from casual tavern fare of hamburgers and fries, fish and chips to more of a fine dining farm to table approach of filet, pork tenderloin, chicken pasta, veal and salmon dishes.
  • Cook items in cooperation with other kitchen staff.
  • Create a desirable looking plate.
  • Answer, report and follow directions from the Chef and Food/Beverage Manager.
  • Clean up station and take proper care of lever over foods.
  • Stock inventory appropriately for daily service and ensure that food is consistent in quality.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Will report directly to Chef and Food and Beverage Director

3 months successful experience at restaurant, hotel, resort, private club, timeshare or other hospitality business as a prep/line cook.

Workers are assigned to one (1) worksite per day and will not travel outside of their assigned worksite. Daily commuting time to worksites is less than one (1) hour.

Daily transportation is provided to and from worksite.

On-the-job training is provided.

Wage: Guaranteed prevailing wage rate of \$20.28 per hour, paid bi-weekly. Overtime is available and guaranteed at no less than \$30.42 per hour.

Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening and weekend hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Work hours and shifts vary.

A single workweek will be used to compute wages due.

Federal requirements of employer for workers hired with H-2B Visa authorization and all corresponding U.S. workers. Company will consider all qualified candidates. Company is willing to facilitate optional housing accommodationsthrough a third party to candidates hired who reside 100 Miles or more outside of the work location and are willing to temporarily relocate to the work location. Housing is limited to the period of time of temporary employment which is no more than nine (9) months and is on a first come first serve basis. Cost of housing, if accepted, is up to \$125 per week payable to the third-party housing provider. If housing is utilized, an agreement for housing will be required with the third-party provider. A security deposit of up to \$500 is required.

All deductions from paycheck will be made in accordance with and as required by law including but not limited proper deduction to ensure wages do not improperly fall below prevailing wage.

If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for the workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs during the last w rkweek. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of \$15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of \$59.00 per day with receipts.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by government (excluding passport fees).
