In this job, you will provide technical/professional guidance and leadership in the achievement of health and safety (H&S) compliance program initiatives. You will collaborate on developing and sustaining these programs at both the enterprise and organizational level through engagement with internal partners such as Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Generation, Enterprise Learning and Development (EL&D), Transportation Services Department (TSD), Security, and other groups within Edison Safety to protect the health and safety of our employees.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Provide guidance to Site EH&S Managers, Site EH&S Teams, T&D Regulatory Compliance Analysts, and Field Safety Advisors on compliance with H&S laws, regulations, rules, and standards throughout the Edison territory.

  • Assist in implementing H&S compliance plans and standards across SCE facilities.

  • Coordinate the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space inventories for 70 facilities.

  • Be responsible for the Working in Remote Location program, including the standard, wearable device inventory, subscriptions, and centralized monitoring coordination with Security.

  • Maintain the Off-Highway Vehicle Standard and Driver Safety Manual.

  • Provide technical/professional support during compliance audits.

  • Collaborate with OU training and EL&D representatives to support in the development and implementation of H&S compliance training programs.

  • Handle the Edison Safety documentation control process and associated documents.

  • Perform OSHA Recordkeeping duties when requested.

The essentials

  • Seven or more years of experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Health and Safety programs.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Environmental, Health and Safety or related technical field.

  • Active Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), or Electric Power Safety Excellence (EPSE) credential

  • Knowledge of CAL/OSHA and other governmental regulations.

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Chino, CA.

  • Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
