Shipping & Receiving Lead

Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for leading the department in ensuring that all shipments are properly received, and all documentation is verified.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, motivate, and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.

  • Review shipment orders , stage, and assign tasks to appropriate personnel.

  • Work with supervisor to review the schedule to establish a plan for the evening shift.

  • Solve day-to-day problems regarding Shipping/Receiving services.

  • Greet and assist visitors/drivers in a timely and friendly manner.

  • Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to ensure timely and accurate preparation of shipping and receiving documents.

  • Receive, count, and log cash received by carriers if applicable.

  • Maintain WMS Scheduler , hard copy schedules, and updates visual aids for traffic flow.

  • Verify paperwork with and release drivers once paperwork is completed.

  • Complete receipts including pallets for loads.

  • Verify product and product count to ensure accuracy of data entered in computer.

  • Arrange outbound pick-up appointments for carriers and customer pickups.

  • Call carriers for late and/or no-show trucks and reschedule appointments as necessary.

  • Follow HACCP and SQF requirements for food quality and safety.

  • Other duties as assigned .

Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 1 year Shipping & Receiving experience .

  • 1 year managing others required.

  • Strong computer skills .

  • Basic math skills .

  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills .

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Great attention to detail .

  • Must be a team player .

  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, or different shifts when needed to ensure the business is operational 24/7.
