PURPOSE OF POSITION: To assist the Associate Director- Direct Marketing in the implementation of plans and goals for the department. To be responsible for managing and executing strategic data-driven plans for donor acquisition, reactivation, list rental and the Sunday Mass direct mail program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate creation and production of Mercy Homes donor appeals as outlined by the Associate Director- Direct Marketing.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic data-driven plans for direct mail donor acquisition.
  • Manage donor acquisition and renewal for the Sunday Mass at Mercy Home program.
  • Manage and track the workflow of external vendors as part of overall project management.
  • Facilitate Mercy Homes list management, brokerage and fulfillment relationships.
  • Create written documentation for appeal planning and reviews.
  • Perform and report revenue and expense analysis of direct mail efforts to management, review/process invoices and track expenses.
  • Using detailed criteria, generate selections of donors for Sunday Mass communications.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret professional periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business, Communications or similar field.
  • Minimum five years direct marketing experience, preferably with a non-profit organization.
  • Minimum two years managerial experience, skill in managing and motivating team members.
  • Detailed knowledge of print production and print vendor relationships
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as the ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs as necessary.
  • Familiarity with database query programs and nonprofit CRM systems.
  • Familiarity with outgoing and incoming USPS mail processes, sortation, fee schedules, NCOA requirements, business reply mail processes
  • Awareness of donor privacy legislation and how it impacts direct response fundraising
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Comfortable with numbers and performing statistical analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple outside vendors and departments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines promptly.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an active team member.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising judgment and discretion in work.
