Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer - Onsite in Valparaiso, IN

Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee and guide a small team of Electrical Engineers in the development, design, and production of electronic products. The Lead Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with the Mechanical Engineering Team Lead and Firmware/Software Team Lead to ensure successful project execution. This role requires strong project management skills, a solid foundation in hardware engineering, and the ability to serve as the key technical resource for the electronics side of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of electrical engineers located in both the US and India, managing engineering development projects throughout their full lifecycle.

  • Prioritize engineering activities, pivot as needed, and provide direct support to stakeholders to ensure project success.

  • Collaborate effectively with global teams, particularly those based in India, to coordinate project efforts and achieve objectives.

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and mentor for the electrical engineering team, offering guidance and expertise in design projects for New Product Development and Sustaining Activities.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, particularly in intrinsically safe product design.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members, both locally and globally, to ensure alignment and progress towards project goals.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of PCB layout and design experience (Altium preferred).

  • Previous experience seeing projects through their full lifecycle.

  • Ability to lead a team through design challenges and conduct design reviews.

  • Experience with component selection.

  • Familiarity with safety standards (UL, intrinsically safe products), electrical design, PCB design, schematic design, and project management.

Work Environment

The candidate will need to work onsite with some flexibility on hours. The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee 1 engineer in Valparaiso and 2 engineers based overseas. This role is essential for creating products that keep people, environments, and products safe.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
