This position can be based anywhere in the United States and will require frequent travel.
The Opportunity
Tradebe is looking for a Director of Radioactive Operations to oversee and drive the profitability and growth of our Radioactive Line of Business (LOB). This role encompasses P&L management, business development, fieldwork oversight, and client consulting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiencies, exploring sustainable solutions, and fostering vendor relationships.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial performance of Radioactive LOB, ensuring profitability and growth
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Perform and supervise technical fieldwork and manage fieldwork crews
- Provide expert consulting services in relation to radioactive waste to clients across the United States
- Conduct site visits, assessments, and radiation surveys to understand and address client needs
- Aid in the preparation and completion of requests for bids and proposals
- Manage radioactive recycling and processing activities, focusing on improving efficiencies and business margins
- Identify and implement new, sustainable outlets for managing radioactive materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering or related field required
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in radiological materials management.
- Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is preferred
- Ability to perform fieldwork as needed; experience with radiometric measuring devices is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate the organizational value proposition effectively
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the United States to support the sales team and provide technical expertise
