Job Description Summary

The Internal Audit (IA) function is in year two of its transformation following GEHC’s separation in January 2023 as a standalone public company. As part of the transformation, IA is creating a modern, data-driven program with a LEAN mindset. The IA function is a global team with presence in United States, United Kingdom, and India. The function is independent and reports to the GEHC Audit Committee.

Reporting to the Professional Practices, Data Analytics (DA) and Innovation Executive, the Data Analytics and Automation Manager will interact with IA leadership and the broader team as well as colleagues across GEHC. The Manager will be responsible for delivering the Data Analytics support on audit engagements as outlined in the Internal Audit Plan. In addition, the Manager will be instrumental in identifying and executing automation for control testing and operational processes. The Manager will gain a robust understanding of the operations of segments, regions, and functions within GEHC.

This role requires clear communication with team members worldwide, as well the ability to independently manage tasks within a flexible schedule.

Job Description

A key priority for this role will be to deliver analytics and automation capabilities in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment in accordance with the IA methodology and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads the execution of comprehensive audit plans with DA scope in collaboration the Engagement Managers and Executives.

  • Effectively manage DA audit team utilization to ensure audit engagements are on time and within budget.

  • Proactive project management and anticipate roadblocks with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Develop and nurture talent to drive a high performing and achieving team.

  • Guide the audit team in applying appropriate DA audit procedures to the areas reviewed so that controls are tested from the perspective of business risk and that populations are fully covered.

  • Adapt DA testing approach based on risks identified.

  • Timely escalation of potential significant results to the Audit Engagement team.

  • Present initial audit observations to the IA leadership and audit stakeholders.

  • Conduct lessons learned sessions with the audit team for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with IA Leadership in the visioning and identification of key control automation candidates and works with enterprise data owners and analytics partners to develop the resulting outputs for audit analysis and consumption.

  • Facilitates data-driven discussions with IA team members and provides recommendations for streamlining audit finding analysis during on-going audits and in the planning of future audits.

  • Operationalizes analytical models (e.g., regression, simulation, statistical, etc.) for direct application to audit scope areas for the identification of outliers, trends and/or projections, where appropriate.

  • Supports leadership in the creation of internal digital reporting platforms and in the visualization of key department data graphics, charts, and dashboards for the consumption of the GEHC Audit Committee and Board of Directors.

  • Oversees and designs the extraction, manipulation, visualization, and analysis of data that support the internal audit lifecycle and assists the Leadership team in the creation and dissemination of Board level presentations.

  • Leverages and applies advanced data concepts, tools, and programming techniques to perform, extract, transform, load (ETL) and analyze activities, and proactively shares knowledge with team members throughout the audit lifecycle.

  • Partners with enterprise data lake and automation teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of bot designs, and quality of bot output.

  • Drives and oversees the overall automation of audit bot design, build, testing/defect resolution, and change control management procedures.

  • Proactively assesses business processes and systems for automation integration opportunities to determine feasibility and estimate bot development efforts.

  • Maintains and executes appropriate testing procedures and scenarios to include positive and negative testing, Unit/SIT/UAT, quality control and assurance, and defect management to validate and ensure the proper operation of bots.

  • Stays up-to-date on data analytics trends (e.g., new tools, statistical methods, visualization techniques), relevant business risks across GE HealthCare Business Units, as well as emerging industry technologies that impact how and where data and automation can be used on audits and in support of key company controls (e.g., AI, Blockchain, RPA).

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or "STEM" (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) Majors

  • 8+ years of relevant Internal Audit/Data Analytics experience; with 2+ years in Internal Audit leadership

  • 1+ industry Data Analytics certification(s) (Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP), CompTIA Data+, Power BI Data Analyst Associate)

  • Ability to travel internationally/domestically approximately (15-20%)

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Medical Devices, Technology, Consulting or Financial Services (preferably with a Fortune 1000 companies or Big 4 assurance organization)
