Job Title: Commissioning Manager - Remote

Job Description

The Manager of Testing & Commissioning will be responsible for leading and managing the testing and commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support. You will be implementing comprehensive testing/commissioning plans on projects, overseeing the process of preparing for test procedures, scheduling, and reporting. Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements on projects is critical. You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of testing and commissioning activities. Additionally, you will present progress reports to management and clients, conduct site inspections, witness testing and commissioning activities, and identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the testing and commissioning process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the testing and commissioning team.

  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.

  • Implement comprehensive testing/commissioning plans on projects.

  • Oversee the process of preparing for test procedures, scheduling, and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements on projects.

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of testing and commissioning activities.

  • Present progress reports to management and clients.

  • Conduct site inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities.

  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the testing and commissioning process.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to the team.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSEE - Electrical with a power systems background , BSEET, Mechanical, or related field).

  • NETA Accreditation.

  • 10 years of experience in testing and commissioning, with prior experience either in a testing and commissioning role or within a power utility division.

  • Strong knowledge of testing and commissioning standards, practices, and procedures (NETA, IEEE, etc.).

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.

  • Proficiency in testing protocols with the ability to review testing data and procedures.

Work Environment

Candidate could be based out of multiple locations with a preference for the Chicago, IL market. Other preferred markets include Chattanooga, TN, DFW Area, TX, Richmond, VA, and potentially Indianapolis or Columbus. Remote work will be considered, with a preference for Midwest / East Coast markets. This role will require approximately 50% travel throughout the month, which could involve travel for the majority of the week or quick 1-2 day site visits. The downtown Chicago office is located near Lake Michigan, offering beautiful views and plenty of great food spots around the office. Fully remote accommodation can be provided if required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $86.54 - $105.77/hr.
