JPMorgan Chase Business Operations Associate - Middle Market in Chicago, Illinois

The Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Services (CCBSI) & Middle Market Banking & Specialized Services (MMBSI) Business Operations team is dedicated to understanding, analyzing and developing recommendations related to the various operational, AML and reputational risks that exist within the CCBSI and MMBSI businesses.

As a CCBSI & MMBSI Business Operations Associate, in the Business Operations Team, you will be involved with numerous projects that will consist of interacting heavily across our banking teams, subject matter experts, functional control partners and senior leaders in Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Services (CCBSI) & Middle Market Banking & Specialized Services (MMBSI) and the broader Commercial Bank (CB). You will lead a large portfolio of fast paced, highly visible projects which have significant impact to the business. Your results of these projects will be socialized with CCBSI, MMBSI, and Commercial Bank executive management. Your deliverables will be non-routine, complex, unmapped and offer the ability to approach solutions in a creative manner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct end-to-end project management of scoping a project, developing a project execution plan, troubleshooting/escalating issues, and ensuring timely project completion

  • Identify opportunities to use real-time data to identify emerging risks for the business

  • Enable the business by identifying operational improvements and driving change management

  • Perform risk assessments for rolling out new business initiatives

  • Identify and escalate operational issues, recommend solutions, and ensure changes are implemented

  • Transform existing controls to be more effective and focused on mitigating material risks

  • Identify and deliver appropriate solutions that address the needs of clients/customers/ stakeholders

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects, deliverables, and deadlines

  • Solutions-oriented with strong ability to analyze opportunities & problems, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively & confidently (both verbal and written)

  • Analytical skills to assess large data sets to develop reporting and to identify operational risk/potential control gaps

  • Independent, comfortable dealing with uncertainty, and self-motivated with an ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic team environment

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and with an ability to inspire those around them

  • Excellent attention to detail with an innate desire to learn and develop

  • Strong interactive personal skills and ability to influence others for positive results

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to manipulate and query large data sets or willingness to learn

  • Experience in a banking, operations, or control management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint PitchPro+ and SharePoint

  • Strong client focus and ability to partner with various internal groups and client coverage
