What will you be doing?

This role sits in the Circana Global Retail Analytics team, which is a group of retail subject matter experts and analytic consultants that work across all markets.

You will be responsible for driving growth in Circana\'s assortment solutions in the North American market. You will be involved in the development, sales, implementation, training and embedding of assortment solutions with Circana\' s retail clients. This is a subject matter expert role to support client teams with process knowledge and solution detail across the sales and implementation process.

The goal of this role is to develop Circana\' s assortment engagements in North America, with retail and Gateway manufacturer clients. The role will report into the Global Subject Matter Expert for Assortment.

Job Responsibilities

Assortment Subject Matter Expert:

  • Recognized as a subject matter expert and source of best practice knowledge on Circana assortment solutions by Circana client teams and Circana\'s retail clients in North America.
  • Demonstrate an in depth understanding of client challenges and requirements on assortment, considering retail and manufacturer users.

Assortment Solutions Sales & Marketing:

  • Drive senior level engagement with clients and be comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive the North America assortment business by developing compelling sales stories, delivering training, and sharing best practice case studies that demonstrate ROI.
  • Support client teams with RFP preparation, client sales meetings, contracts, and documentation.
  • Support ad-hoc projects, proof of concepts or ongoing deliveries of assortment solutions.
  • Shape marketing collateral and a plan to drive awareness with retailers in North America.
  • Attend industry events as a thought leader in North American markets.

Assortment Solution Implementation, Training & Embedding:

  • Work with Product to support the implementation of Unify Assortment reports to clients.
  • Develop and deliver training on Circana assortment solutions in North America (internal & external).
  • Follow up with clients after implementation to answer questions and support them to embed into their assortment review process, with merchants and vendors.
  • Support the Circana client teams on assortment methodologies, products & applications.

Assortment Solution Development:

  • Recommend solution improvements based on client feedback and enhancement opportunities.
  • Share client feedback with Global Gateway and Analytics Product teams.
  • Work with the Retail Assortment Solutions team to document requirements and prioritize client roadmap requirements.
  • Maintain a regular connection with North America CPG Assortment Solutions team to share best practice, learnings and explore roadmap opportunities.

  • Requirements**

Functional Expertise and Experience

Experience of either working for a retailer or with a retailer, as a manufacturer category captain making assortment recommendations or at an agency specializing in the delivery of assortment solutions

Subject matter expert in assortment, category management and merchandizing best practices

Experience of delivering assortment plans and merchandizing sets for a retailer

Strong understanding of the retail industry: retailer needs, processes, and trends

Experience of speaking at conferences or industry events would be preferred.

Broad category expertise across CPG and GM categories.

Expertise using loyalty/customer/transactional data at a granular level to derive insight.

Understanding of analytical concepts such as substitutability, incrementality, demand transfer, assortment optimization and space optimization.

Strong analytical, enquiring, insightful and strategic thinking abilities

A proven record of interpreting data, developing meaningful insights, and providing value added recommendations with excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.
