Job Description:
Deliver a range of risk advisory projects for multiple public and private clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting on risk management, internal control, and internal audit engagements that develop, assess, or help improve the design and operating effectiveness of risk management and internal control activities. Collaborate closely with upper management and colleagues and play a key role in project delivery, client relationship management, and business development. Review operational, financial, and administrative processes to assess risk, internal controls, and overall effectiveness and efficiency of the process. Gain an understanding of clients’ business, objectives, strategy, operations, processes, IT systems, service providers, and controls and report risk factors. Actively participate in client engagements from start to completion, including planning, executing, and reporting. Work on engagements including co-sourced and outsourced internal audit, internal control assessments, enterprise risk management program assessments, tests of control design and operating effectiveness for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other compliance requirements and assist clients with designing and implementing internal controls. Support Senior Managers and Directors in project management activities such as preparing and managing engagement project plans, timelines, budgets, and status reporting. Develop and execute internal control trends to evaluate findings for significance and risk and develop recommendations for improvement based on leading practices. Manage 5-10 Associates and Senior Associates.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Intelligence or related field, or the foreign degree equivalent, plus 5 years of progressively more responsible experience as an Accountant, Audit Associate, Senior Associate, or alternate related acceptable occupation. Work or academic experience must have included: (1) Performing financial statement audits (both private and public) for clients and assisting on agreed upon procedures in engagements; (2) Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls for key business processes; (3) Identifying and communicating risk and rationalization of risk with stakeholders, including senior management; (4) Leading walkthroughs to understand the control environment while performing control design assessment; (5) Applying knowledge of risk and control trends to evaluate findings for significance and risk, and developing recommendations for improvement; (6) Overseeing the day-to-day execution of engagement objectives while supervising teams of staff members on multiple engagements; (7) Utilizing Visio and Microsoft Office Suite. CPA License (U.S. or other jurisdiction) required. 10% travel to various unanticipated client sites across the U.S. May work remotely.
Compensation for position: $127,000 – $140,000/year
