Randstad is seeking a highly motivated Biologist with a background in entomology / molecular biology to establish functional assays with different eukaryotic cell types. As the selected candidate, you will utilize cell biology techniques to deepen the understanding of complexity of cell types, their biology and functions promoting trait development for the company. You will help in establishing protocols and assays with eukaryotic cells using cutting edge technology and imaging systems.
salary: $27 - $31 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors
Responsibilities
Design experiments, execute and troubleshoot for desired outcome
Develop protocols and assays using eukaryotic cells
Microdissection of tissues
Culture and maintain different eukaryotic cell types
Determine cell attributes using microscopy/FACS
Study functional response through protein-protein interactions
Proper documentation of experiments and maintain thorough records
Ability to use small equipment following standard safety measures
Insect rearing and handling
What you need:
Bachelor's/Master's in Biology, Entomology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology orelated field of study.
2+ years of related lab/research experience
Basic computer skills
Basic microscopy skills (optional)
Ability to learn and new concepts and techniques
Troubleshooting
Work in diverse team environment
Good communication skills
Good record keeping
Interest to read literature and learn
The essential functions of this role include:
- working in a smoke free environment

Entomology (1 year of experience is required)
Molecular Biology (2 years of experience is required)
Cell Biology (2 years of experience is required)
Microscopy (1 year of experience is required)
