Dollar Tree Maintenance Technician- Various Shifts in Chesapeake, Virginia
Comp: $22.50 -$25.00
Must be flexible to work any schedule
1st Shift Monday- Friday 7:00 AM -3 PM
2nd shift Monday through Friday 3:00 pm-11:00 pm
The CONVEYOR Tech at Dollar Tree performs preventative maintenance, and repairs, on the Distribution Center's (DC) industrial machinery, equipment, grounds, and structures. They assist skilled maintenance personnel with complex repairs in a safe and professional manner. Qualified candidates must be able to do preventative maintenance, inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair various conveyor systems- mechanically and electrically, air compressors, racking, garage doors, dock plates, facility equipment – fire suppression system, plumbing, HVAC. Strong electrical skills preferred!
Essential Job Functions Include:
Makes safety a priority: follows set safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety and the safety of all DC associates
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs according to procedures on equipment such as: Conveyor systems, Pneumatic systems, Material handling equipment, Hydraulic equipment, Dock equipment, Electronics, Electrical equipment
Document all work performed, parts utilized, and labor hours in CMMS
Perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex material handling systems (i.e. conveyors, sorters, etc.)
Perform maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair 480V 3-phase electrical control circuits, Device Control circuits, PC and PLC control systems
Perform maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems including: Fire control systems, Alarm systems, 2-way radio systems, Dock door systems
Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
Develop knowledge base of different systems in use throughout the Distribution Center
Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Maintenance department and DC
Communicate effectively with the team; including customers, suppliers, and associates, both verbally and in writing to minimize downtime of equipment
Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written and/or computer-based documents according to established procedures
Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment
Commit to ensuring workmanship is of the highest quality
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Trade School is preferred
One (1) year of experience repairing/maintaining mechanical or electrical equipment in an industrial or non-industrial setting OR two (2) years' related vocational training
Basic knowledge of hand and power tool operation
Ability to understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment blueprints
Experience utilizing CMMS
Preferred experience with 3-phase 480-volt industrial electrical systems and motor controls
Preferred experience with PLC/Control systems
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Focus on providing excellent customer service
Flexibility: Team member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs
