Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We have an opening for an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic at our Grain facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing routine mechanical and equipment repairs, troubleshooting equipment function issues, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols including lock out tag out. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor and play a key role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our electrical systems.

Ability to read Electrical Schematics
Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (multi-meter, current clamp meter, resistance tester, tachometer, circuit tracer)
Knowledge of 3 phase 480 VAC systems
Knowledge of 24 vdc loop powered systems
Ability to properly size conduit and wire for installations
Troubleshoot electrical circuits
Install lighting and power panels plus step down transformers
VFD's and Soft Starts installation and wiring
PLC Systems identification (racks, processor and com cards)
Understanding of relays, starters, PLC hardware, control stations, conduit fittings
Soft Skills
Ability to work at heights
Proficiency in using hand tools
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in CHESAPEAKE, Virginia.
Work Environment
The position is based in a very industrial environment that is dusty and dirty, and involves working out in the elements most of the time. Candidates must be comfortable with heights as the role involves working near large industrial conveyors and elevators.
