Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Chesapeake, Virginia
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the retail industry, situated in CHESAPEAKE, Virginia, United States. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing accounts payable tasks, processing invoices, and maintaining vendor relationships. It's a challenging position that requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage accounts payable inbox efficiently
• Handle vendor invoice processing and ensure accurate records of transactions
• Conduct research to resolve discrepancies in invoices
• Send invoices for necessary approvals in a timely manner
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and manage communication with vendors
• Utilize programs such as Outlook and Microsoft Excel for different tasks
• Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Monitor and take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments when necessary
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Track record of effectively managing vendor relationships.
• Retail industry experience is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven skills in problem-solving and critical thinking.
