This position will support management of the current portfolio of Electric Vehicle (EV) programs such as Fast Charge Network and Commercial Fleet Electrification as well as assist with the research and creation of potential new initiatives in the EV and clean energy market. The ideal candidate will have strong organization and project/program management skills, an innovative and solution-oriented mindset, strong oral and written communication skills, and is a team oriented, relationship builder with customer service mindset. Direct experience with researching, developing, and valuing new products or programs is a plus.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Serves as enterprise-wide expert, key contact, and commercial lead with Local Power Companies (LPCs), directly served industrial customers (DSIs), and key stakeholders for Energy Services & Programs. Interacts with TVA and LPC executives and staff to execute program management and marketing strategies, while ensuring that Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategies align with TVA strategic imperatives. Aligns research and data to ensure actions are taken and results are generated; which includes reporting results up to and including TVA Scorecard initiatives, using key performance indicators and dashboards. When needed; provides plan for course-correction to manage goals. Key contact with a wide range of other organizations, including External Relations, Enterprise Planning, Pricing & Contracts, Billing, OGC, Communications, Regulatory, Financial Operations & Performance Operations, and customer advocacy groups (e.g., TVPPA, TVIC, etc.) to define a compelling strategy that differentiates and strengthens ES&P goals through strong positioning, stakeholder experience, and employee advocacy.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Supervisory Responsibility— Provides program-level and technical supervision of department intern(s), Financial Services Associates and Specialists Level II & III; coordinates and manages the work of multiple managed-task contractors; leads matrixed teams of internal SMEs and external partners, customers, and providers.

Budget Responsibility— Budgets may exceed $10 million. Assists senior management with marketing and program budgets and measuring program effectiveness.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Organizes and directs cross-functional teams, including TVA staff, LPCs, DSIs, and customer advocacy groups (e.g., TVPPA and TVIC), in the development and implementation of energy efficiency, efficient electrification, and demand response programs.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert and liaison with LPCs, DSIs, and customer advocacy groups.

  • Develops strategies for creating, testing, marketing, analyzing, and implementing existing and new programs under the EnergyRight brand to help ES&P serve as a supply side resource for TVA.

  • Coordinates with senior staff on the development of program materials including RFPs, design documentation, marketing materials, data system management, and vendor/consultant contracts.

  • Manages third-party vendor and consultant contracts and Contract Work Authorizations (CWA).

  • Assists with development and management of annual budgets throughout the fiscal year and for future years through Business Planning, Power Supply Plan, and Contracting Plan processes.

  • Using best practices, manages the development, execution, and measurement of ES&P programs that align with TVA missions and goals and serves the needs of the LPCs, DSIs, and the people in the Tennessee Valley.

  • Provide support to ensure consistency of marketing and advertising activities across the Tennessee Valley, including program materials, print advertising, or other mediums.

  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic business partners, internally and externally.

  • Develops program, customer, and/or participant analyses, data visualization tools, algorithms, models, presentations, and communications materials as needed for a comprehensive understanding of program design and interaction.

  • Works with staff and research team to develop and track measures and analyze the results and effectiveness of energy programs.

  • Expert in regional and customer needs, preferences, and market potential, and can develop approaches to match them to TVA strategy and industry best practices.

  • Models TVA’s values and leadership behaviors. Creates an environment of cooperation, communication, inclusion, and innovation.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, finance, data analytics, or related technical discipline or equivalent education, training, and experience. An advanced degree may be desired.

    Experience– Six or more years experience including experience in utilities or similar entities in energy programs, project management, marketing and/or research. Direct experience with ES&P product offerings is preferred.

    Certification/License, etc.— None

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities— Must have strong project and program management skills and exercise sound judgement. Must have knowledge of electric-based energy efficiency, efficient electrification, sales/marketing, and/or demand response methods. Must possess skills in creating technical, analytical, and customer-centric solutions, continuous improvement processes, strategic thinking, decision making and working in a team environment. Must have strong analytical skills and demonstrated strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on positon/access requirements of essential job functions.
