Siemens Energy Manufacturing Supervisor - Oil Processes and Assembly - Transformer Repair Center (Morning Shift) in Charlotte, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for managing production shifts and directly overseeing the factory floor workers during various stages of the power transformer repair and retrofit process! Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Team Leader will ensure that production operations are carried out efficiently and effectively while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Leading and managing production shifts, ensuring that production targets and deadlines are met.

  • Be responsible for daily operations in the manufacturing plant, focusing on oil processes and transformer assembly and servicing, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Directly supervising factory workers, ensuring adherence to guidelines and procedures.

  • Coordinating with the Manufacturing Manager to implement production plans and strategies.

  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.

  • Coordinate with other department leaders to streamline production processes, enhance efficiency, and minimize downtime.

  • Supervise and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring optimal stock for uninterrupted production.

  • Training new team members and promoting continuous learning within the team.

  • Identifying and addressing production process problems to prevent delays.

  • Establishing open lines of communication between team members and the Manufacturing Manager.

  • Ensuring product quality meets company standards.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new training programs for the blue-collar workforce.

  • Contributing to the implementation and advancement of Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, challenges, and progress to senior management, offering insights and recommendations for improvements.

  • Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols and regulations, fostering a safe and respectful working environment.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. A technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field would be advantageous.

  • 8+ experience in a manufacturing setting and/ or preferred transformer manufacturing or servicing experience. Two or more years in people management. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.

  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mentality.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

  • Willingness to work in shifts and flexibility to adapt to changing production needs.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with external partners.

  • Language: English [Read, write, communicate effectively]

  • If not local the candidate must be willing to relocate to Charlotte-NC area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience in a regulated environment, with a deep understanding of OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
