Siemens Energy GT CNC Vertical Boring Mill Machinist - 4 X 10 Night shift in Charlotte, North Carolina
A Snapshot of Your Day
The successful candidate will work within the Compressor Component products manufacturing area within Siemens Energy Gas Turbine products division. Success is dependent upon flexibility in working urgent priorities and effectively completing daily work assignments day to day. The primary purpose of this position is to set up and operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Vertical Boring Machines in order to perform precise operations on a variety of parts and components.
Tools used include but are not limited to various Vertical boring mills and associated equipment such as: milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saw, inside and outside micrometers, vernier gauges, dial indicators, wrenches, blocks, jacks, readouts and P.C., cranes, etc.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Work from manufacturing information, drawings, written and/or verbal instructions and perform such operations as:
• Operate material handling devices to load and unload parts from machines, assisting crane operators as needed.
• Set up machines by installing tooling and adjusting settings according to job documentation and specifications, ensuring proper tooling pre-sets.
• Secure workpieces using various alignment tools and equipment to ensure accurate machining.
• Follow established procedures and documentation to operate machines, utilizing manual, semi-automatic, or automatic controls for various machining operations.
• Conduct in-process integrity checks and testing, making necessary tool changes or offsets to maintain drawing tolerances.
• Perform preventative maintenance, address minor machine malfunctions, and complete required documentation, including log sheets and downtime records.
What You Bring
• Minimum education required: High School diploma or GED
• 3 years applied trades training, such as use of blueprints, CNC equipment, apprenticeships, etc.
• Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
• Must qualify for and maintain appropriate equipment certifications of Siemens Energy (i.e. Fork truck, crane, etc.).
• Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Through our Generation division, we enhance and innovate conventional and renewable power supply. Currently, we're reducing carbon emissions of existing assets and developing technologies that transform power generation applications.
Specifically, the Charlotte Combustion Manufacturing team provides repair and new combustion components to support gas turbine service and new build customers. We pride ourselves on creative solutions to our customer’s needs.
