This position is responsible for the monthly financial consolidation and reporting process for the parent company and affiliates/segments and for the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. In addition, the position acts as the liaison for finance and other departments in regards to al public financial reporting.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

(1) Oversee the preparation of the consolidation, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and financial statement packages, specific to internal and public reporting and calculates debt covenant metrics.

(2) Ensure financial reports reflect latest accounting standards and remain up-to-date on current accounting standards applicable to the Company's industries. Support implementation of new accounting standards and accounting for transactions. Perform technical accounting research and draft technical accounting memos. Read and interpreting contracts and other documents to determine correct accounting.

(3) Manage and coordinate the annual financial statement audit, working collaboratively with the facilities, legal department, external auditors, third-party valuation firms, and others, including compilation of financial statements, preparation of footnote disclosures, legal updates, third-party valuations, etc. Prepare audit schedules, organize and review supporting documentation for audit. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.

(4) Manage and coordinate the Unified Guidance audit, working collaboratively with the facilities, grant departments and revenue/reimbursement. Prepare the SEFA and organize and review all supporting documentation for audit.

(5) Manage and coordinate the pension audits, working collaboratively with all facilities, human resources and payroll.

(6) Participates in the development and oversees the implementation of financial/accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure the integrity of the financial reports and to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.

(7) Lead and coordinate special projects, ad-hoc reports, analyses, and reconciliations as needed.

(8) Plans, coordinates and supervises the operational, personnel and financial activities for all assigned departments. Responsible for hiring, mentorship, professional development, determining functions and annual evaluations of staff members.

(9) Incorporates Beth Israel Lahey Health Guiding Principles, Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance

• Six (6) years combined experience public accounting + private sector. Three to four (3-4) years public accounting experience.

• Healthcare experience preferred

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

• CPA required. MBA preferred but not required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Excellent analytical skills. Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong proven leadership, project management, and execution skills

• Superb communication skills, both written and verbal

• Demonstrated change agent, self-starter and team player

• Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities

• Capable of leading the charge (sometimes from behind) and thinking "out of the box". Comfortable challenging the status quo while able to work diplomatically to keep stakeholders engaged

• Able to persuade others and gain commitment

• Understands context of assignments and tasks and able to be flexible and adaptable to changing roles & priorities.
