Tree Trimmers - 6 fulltime, temporary, peakload (H-2B) jobs available 4/1/25-12/15/25.
Employer: Westchester Tree Life, Inc., 480-A King Street, Chappaqua, NY 10514.
Duties: Prune/trim or remove larger trees by climbing with aid of ropes/saddles and using hand saws, chainsaws, or work from the ground using hand and power saws, pruners, clippers. Clean up debris on ground using a wood chipper and chain saw.
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs when necessary.
Job sites: 480-A King Street Chappaqua, NY h0514 and multiple worksites within Westchester(NY), Rockland(NY), Putnam(NY), Dutchess (NY), Litchfield(CT) and Fairfield(CT) counties. No daily transportation to/from workers' home and primary worksite. Such transportation complies with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws/regulations. Employer provides incidental transport between job sites.
No education required, 12 months tree trimming experience required. Employer willing to accept related experience.
Work Hours: standard schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm, pay rate $26.68/hour. OT at $40.02/hour. Employer will offer 40 hours/week. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions.
Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
Raises/bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation at the company's sole discretion based on individual factors including performance, skill, and tenure.
A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday. The employer will make all deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. Employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include the following: Voluntary advances and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deductions. The employer offers optional employee health insurance and retirement plans to its workers, participation in such plan is voluntary.
Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period, beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment and ending on the contract end date or any extension thereof. Employer may count all hours worked, as well as any hours offered within the standard work schedule that worker chooses to not work, up to the maximum number of daily hours on the job order.
Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to payment of outbound travel costs or the full 3/4 guarantee described above.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.88/day without receipts or up to $59/day with receipts.
