KBR is seeking a Systems Engineer (SE) to support the SSPO Systems Engineering and Integration Division. The Systems Engineer is a technical/engineering professional who performs system or enterprise level systems engineering across the life cycle on complex Space Systems acquisition processes. The SE provides expert advice and manages systems engineering processes and implementation for System Program Office (SPO)-developed collection system, including space vehicle, payloads, and associated ground command and control elements. Requires experience in multiple aspects of the program systems engineering life cycle to aid the customer’s SPO in the acquisition, verification and validation, and initialization of current programs. The position includes requirements management, interface definition, customer engagement, and proposal technical evaluation support. The position requires a moderate level of knowledge in modern model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques in order to aid the customer’s SPO in appropriately applying digital engineering to their next-generation program. Member should be able to translate program capabilities into required architectural products.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop requirements from higher level Enterprise governing documents to the Segment level and lower
Support relevant specification development and test planning activities across the enterprise and with development contractors
Lead coordination and completion of segment specification sell-off, along with other verification and validation activities
Coordinate across the SP for any proposed specification changes and facilitate integration of changes into the baseline
Lead the transition and stand-up of the above specification management activities into an appropriately scoped and purposed MBSE framework
Develop model queries and supporting documentation to enable use of model results
Plan MBSE model development in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestones
Identify and assess segment-level impacts of new capabilities, including across specification, internal and external interfaces, and facilitate integration into the current program baseline
Identify risks to mission closure in the collection segment and evaluate proposed burn-down plans
Liaise with mission analysis and acquisition teams to ensure completeness across the acquisition
Leverage a variety of software tools including DOORS, and perform analysis and automation of tasks
Support customer design reviews, providing technical insight to evaluate developer design
Lead integration of new capabilities to the program baseline
Manage external interface definition and coordination of changes with external stakeholders and developer
Provide technical insight into evaluations of developer proposals
Support customer in CONOP development
Support initialization and on-orbit calibration and validation activities
Support ground site integration and test activities
Develop productive relationships with development contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other spacecraft, payload and ground subject matter experts
Advise and mentor customer personnel regarding segment architecture, specification, verification and validation
Other duties as specified by the customer

Qualifications:
Required:
Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience
Demonstration knowledge of MBSE at program through architecture level
Basic understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be independent and effective in a government/contractor team environment
Experience in DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Available to travel domestically
Education and experience with MBSE for requirements management
