Central California Child Development Services, Inc. Teacher Support and Student Intervention Team Lead in Ceres, California

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible to perform and document daily health checks as children arrive at the center. 2. Writes Activity Plans as appropriate. 3. Plans and implements program for children, including children with disabilities. 4. When assigned, designated teacher will be responsible to administer prescribed medication when applicable. 5. Functions as an appropriate positive role model. 6. Supervises and evaluates assigned classroom assistants. 7. Assists in recruiting eligible children. 8. Designs and implements an individual educational program for each child, based upon assessed development needs. 9. Integrates program areas. 10. Informs parents of the childs educational plan and identifies activities which parents can utilize as educational activities in the home. 11. Prepares and maintains classroom records and reports required for individual child, class, and program compliance. 12. Assists as requested in monthly center parent committee meetings to review center activity progress and direction. 13. Maintains required adult/child ratio in classrooms. 14. Involves parents and community volunteers in the activities of center and supervises their volunteer efforts. 15. Operates all equipment in a safe manner. 16. Provides in-service training for assistants, parents and volunteers. 17. Follows referral procedures in seeking assistance in meeting child and family needs. 18. Assists and documents transition activities from home to center, classroom to classroom and from center to kindergarten. 19. Participates in training program of the agency. 20. Consistently supportive of the agency and ALL its policies. 21. Must have consistent and regular attendance. 22. Must demonstrate ability to work well with others. 23. Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Child Growth and Development.Classroom Environment. Case Management. Funding Program Guidelines. Licensing Regulations

Ability to: Respect Cultural and Ethnic Differences. Speak, read and write English and Spanish is desirable.

Experience: Two years teaching experience in a Preschool or Infant/Toddler program.

Education Requirements: BA/BS degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferable. AA degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education required when working in a Preschool classroom. Current and acceptable level of California Child Development Permit. Three (3) units in Infant/Toddler care are required when working in an Infant or Toddler classroom. Six (6) units in Infant/Toddler care are required when you hold a lower California Child Development Permit (Ex. Associate Permit) or do not hold an AA or BA degree. Fifteen (15) hours of training in preventative health practices including Community CPR and Pediatric First Aid.

Physical Requirements: Facility to sit at a desk, conference table or in meeting rooms of various configurations for varying amounts of time. Facility to see, read and distinguish colors, with or without vision aids, instructional materials, rules and policies and other printed matter. Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal conversations. Facility to walk on uneven terrain, play yards and school grounds. Physical agility to lift and carry from 10-40 pounds; and to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, and stand as many as four hours per day. Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist, and turn. Facility to drive (valid California drivers license and insurance required for privately owned automobiles). TB Clearance every four (4) years. Proof of measles and pertussis vaccination required Proof of Flu vaccination or declination required annually. FBI, DOJ and Child Abuse Index Clearance required.
