STROBEL MANUFACTURING INC Welder Fabricator in Central City, Nebraska
As a Welder/Fabricator you will be responsible for putting together one set of components or working on the finished product.
Responsibilities(other duties may be assigned)
- Fit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawings.
- Perform code (ASME, AWS or API) compliant welds using GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and FCAW processes.
- Perform joint preparation per drawings and code specifications.
- Properly use fabrication shop hand tools. (grinders, drills, air tools, etc.)
- Operate forklifts.
- Operate vertical/horizontal band saws.
- Rig, hoist/lift and move materials.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment.
Requirements:
- Must be able to prep, set up, fit, and weld GMAW, FCAW and/or SMAW 2G, 3G and 4G weld test and GTAW 6G weld test.
- Positive can do attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to take detailed instructions.
- Willing to be challenged to improve welding skills to meet high quality standards.
- Must be able to read and understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
- Must be able to use Oxy/fuel and Plasma hand cutting torch.
- Daily housekeeping of shop and/or work area.
- Flexible working schedule to support project needs.
Considered a Plus:
- ASME pipe welding experience.
- Fit-up and layout experience on structural/misc. steel and pipe spools.
- GTAW welding in 6G position.
- Experience with machine equipment such as mill or drill press.
- Familiarity with weld inspections and related NDE (RT, MT, PT)
- Working knowledge of shop travelers for pressure vessels (ASME VIII-Div. 1) fabrication.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
