What you will do:

  • Design cable harnesses for use in Avionics system rigs and test fixtures.

  • Interpret, update and author drawings that capture the design and implementation of rigs and test fixtures.

  • Develop innovative tools and system interfaces that support automated system testing by designing switchable rig interfaces that can transition from hardware to inputs driven by simulation.

  • Implement DevOps tools and processes in avionics labs and apply technologies to automate and streamline avionics production, such as software auto load tools for avionics devices.

  • Collaborate using configuration management tools, document release procedures and follow team development processes.

What you will learn:

  • You will gain experience in Cert DevOps, developing and contributing to new methods, technologies, and techniques to automate operations of Avionics rigs to enable automated testing, loading of software into Avionics units.

  • You will work on aircraft that span across the industry—business jets, commercial aircraft, and military aircraft, gaining exposure to diverse teams and departments, broadening your skillset and expand your professional network.

  • You will learn how current generation Avionics test rigs are designed and built and contribute to the design of next generation of test rigs that will incorporate new technologies, new challenges and serve new customers.

Education & Experience required:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

Skills you must have:

  • Practical knowledge of Avionics projects and systems with the ability to understand and make systems level changes in wiring and physical interfaces.

  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a Mechanical, Systems or Software Engineering role where you gained experience in cable harness design and documentation.

  • Knowledge of formal tools used to design, document, and communicate wiring harnesses, avionics test rigs, and test stands, such as FoxWin, Fox Circuit Tool, Rig Circuit Tool, Ticomix Tool or AutoCAD Electrical.

Skills we value:

  • Familiarity with Collins Aerospace Avionics systems engineering processes and procedures involving rig/environment configuration documentation and conformity.

  • Ability to define and design interfaces to avionics visual data (via cameras, auxiliary outputs from displays, etc.) to enable remote access to rigs.

  • Ability to contribute to design of electrical circuits such as power supplies, bus switching and timing/trigger devices for avionics rigs.

  • Experience performing hardware/software integration by applying Avionics I/O cards to rigs and test stands.

  • Familiarity with LabView.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
