Elevance Health Immigration Consultant in CARY, North Carolina

Location: This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid workforce strategy which includes virtual work and 1-2 days in office per week .

** The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles and a 1-hour commute to one of our Elevance Health major office (PulsePoint) locations. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection.

The Immigration Consultant is responsible for the administration of immigration process and guidelines in accordance with federal state and local regulation. Using specialized knowledge, they act as an advisor to the business, providing guidance and support in business immigration matters.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the daily immigration activities Enterprise-wide to ensure that the company is in compliance with federal laws, policies, and procedures. Serves as primary liaison Enterprise-wide with internal customers (HR, hiring manager, and associate) and outside immigration counsel to achieve efficient immigration processes that will ensure matters are handled with consistency throughout the Enterprise.

  • Provides guidance to internal customers on complex immigration policies and procedures through various methods of communication including email, a case management system and telephone calls.

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with internal customers and outside immigration counsel.

  • Supports integration of immigration services for mergers and acquisitions.

  • Works closely with all stakeholders in support of issuance, extension, or renewal of temporary work visas (H 1B; F-1; and TN); permanent residency (green card); travel document; and Employment Authorization Card to ensure all documents are submitted in a timely and accurate manner before expiration date to immigration services for approval.

  • On behalf of company, verifies and validates all immigration documentation and ensure that information and documentation is complete and accurate. Acts as the company’s Authorized Signatory in immigration matters (signing visa petitions, etc.).

  • Drafts experience verification letters in partnership with the business leader, in support of a beneficiary’s PERM process.

  • Support Global Mobility regarding associates who repatriate due to visa max out.

  • Notifies manager and HR Business Partner of potential termination if associate has not applied for and received new work authorization before expiration date.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of business immigration experience including knowledge of related regulations; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $76,992 -$115,488.
