Sanilac County Parks Maintenance Supervisor in Carsonville, Michigan
Sanilac County Parks is hiring a full-time 40 hours/week Maintenance Supervisor for their part in Forester.
Under the supervision of the Park Manager, supervises and participates in the work necessary to operate and maintain a county park. This position requires both technical abilities and supervisory skills.
Duties:
- Obey and enforce rules and regulations established by the Park Commission.
- Supervise park personnel engaged in operating and maintaining the County Parks.
- Inspect work in progress and/or upon completion to assure the quality and quantity of work performed.
- Patrol the park to assure that all vehicles have permits and to enforce park rules and regulations.
- Respond to and solve a variety of complaints, such as barking dogs, noisy campers, or inoperative facilities.
- Public relations duties, such as answering questions, assisting and spending time with park users, etc.
- Participate in maintenance activities such as mowing and trimming grass, raking leaves, clearing trees and brush, maintaining buildings and equipment owned and operated by the park.
- Register incoming campers and other park users.
- Collect fees, assign campsites, and reserve campsites in response to mail and phone requests, and enter this information into the computer.
- Substitute for Park Manager in his/her absence
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 21 years of age
- Minimum of 2 years of park and recreation management experience
- Able to perform all phases of park operations
- Physically able to perform all job functions in accordance with prescribed duties
- Mentally alert and of sound mind
- Willingness to serve the public beyond a forty (40) hour work week, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of computer applications is beneficial
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
Pay starts at $17.09 per hour, with a 7-step pay scale, with benefits.
