Description
This position is with the Carson City Public Works Department.
This is a part-time position, not to exceed 1,039 hours per fiscal year, July 1 through June 30. Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial duties related to facility cleaning and maintenance.
This position is expected to work swing shift, with hours varying from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., approximately 14 - 20 hours per week.

- This position may require working non-traditional shift hours, which may include early morning, afternoon, evening, late night, or swing shift.
- Availability to work on call, evenings, and weekends is required .
- Moves and arranges furniture and A/V equipment to set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
- Cleaning and sanitizing of hard floors, under bleachers, facility restrooms, auditorium floors, seats, windows, fixtures, mirrors and carpets.Empties trash and stocks supplies, etc.
- Operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers and carpet extractors.
- Removes litter and debris from facility walkways and grounds.
- Supervision and securing of facility.
- Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of work; drives City vehicles to work sites, transports materials and assists other staff as required.
- Provides customer service.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with contractors, public and City staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

Education and Experience:
- Equivalent to a High School education or GED
- Professional cleaning experience is helpful
- Hospitality industry experience is helpful
