About the Role

This position reports directly to the Quality Coordinator and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Decostar as described below: #LI-Onsite

Your Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of Decostar to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.

• To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.

Who we are looking for

• Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.

• Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.

• Complete all required safety-related inspections.

• Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.

• Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely

• Keep up to date on Customer requirements, communicate changes in Customer standards; contribute and track progress towards resolution of quality issues.

• Participate in the development and maintenance of Control Plans, FMEAs, work instructions, forms and other related Quality System documentation.

• Audit the First-Off/Last-Off process and documentation every Shift to ensure standards are being met.

• Conduct process audits to ensure associates are following work instructions. Report findings to appropriate personnel within the Molding Department.

• Conduct product audits to ensure customer requirements are being met. Use feedback from customer complaints and Quality Alerts to prioritize frequency.

• Act as a primary liaison between the Departments concerning quality issues. Work closely with Supervisors and Team Leaders to resolve issues.

• Compose shift-end reports to communicate pass-down information to the Molding Team regarding key issues and metrics.

• Continually work to establish and to maintain a boundary sample library.

• Update daily, weekly and monthly metrics as required.

• Participate in third-party surveillance audits of Quality Systems.

• Participate in continual improvement teams and activities to ensure departmental performance objectives are met.

• Conduct 5S audits as required and follow-up on action items.

• Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.

• Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions and re-validations.

• As needed, train Department personnel in the details of the Control Plan, customer quality specifications and quality expectations. Provide visual aids and/or work guidance instruction as required and document per ISO/IATF16949 requirements.

• Verify the execution of the Control Plan and work instructions by production team leaders and team members through regularly scheduled audits.

• Communicate customer specification and expectation changes to all production personnel. Report deviations to the Department Manager.

• Assist in the containment and disposition of the suspect material

• Generate, distribute and document quality alerts as appropriate.

• Perform SPC gauging analysis on critical characteristics

• Maintain any necessary certificates and testing records in order to satisfy ISO/IATF-16949 and customer requirements. Report any deficiencies to the Department Manager.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your preferred qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required. Six years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

• Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management systems; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Minimum of two years’ experience in quality assurance required.

• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills (a must).

• Must be computer literate in the Windows environment i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with statistical software is an asset.
