We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our welding shop as a Fitter in Bowdon, GA. The Fitter plays a crucial role in our operations, responsible for assembling, fitting, and fabricating metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This position demands precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of metalworking techniques.
salary: $20 - $20.01 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 6 AM - 4:30 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials required and assembly processes.
Perform fitting, aligning, and welding tasks to ensure proper assembly and structural integrity.
Measure and inspect fabricated components to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to resolve any discrepancies or issues in the fabrication process.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Assist in the maintenance and calibration of shop equipment as needed.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
The essential functions of this role include:
wearing steel toe shoes
working in a non-temperature controlled environment
working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
Skills
Blueprint Reading (2 years of experience is preferred)
Tape Measure Reading (5 years of experience is preferred)
Fabrication
