The PC-12 Captain is responsible for safe and efficient flight operations as part of a formal two-pilot crew for commuter and on-demand private charter operations with base at the San Juan Puerto Rico (SJU) airport to provide personal air travel - both private and scheduled service - throughout North America and the Caribbean.Specifically, the PC-12 Captain will be responsible for the following duties:•  Performing pre-flight inspections of the aircraft.•  Start engines, operate controls, and pilot airplanes to transport passengers according to flight plans, regulations, and procedures.•  Receive takeoff and landing instructions.•  Monitor engine operation, fuel consumption, and functioning of aircraft systems during flights.•  Check aircraft prior to flights to ensure that the engines, controls, instruments, and other systems are functioning properly.•  Consider airport altitudes, outside temperatures, plane weights, and wind speeds and directions to calculate the speed needed to become airborne.•  Call to attention any unsafe conditions while on the ground or in-flight•  Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and other information, using radio equipment.•  File instrument flight plans with air traffic control so that flights can be coordinated with other air traffic.•  Check baggage or cargo to ensure that it has been loaded correctly.•  Order changes in fuel supplies, loads, routes, or schedules to ensure safety of flights.•  Plan flights according to government and company regulations, using aeronautical charts and navigation instruments.•  Choose routes, altitudes, and speeds that will provide the fastest, safest, and smoothest flights.•  Request changes in altitudes or routes as circumstances dictate.•  Communicate with air traffic control over the aircraft’s radio system.•  Manage and lead the flight crew during takeoff, landing and when in the air while also being responsible for their safety throughout the whole flight.•  Write specified information in flight records, such as flight times, altitudes flown, and fuel consumption.•  Conduct in-flight tests and evaluations at specified altitudes and in all types of weather to determine the receptivity and other characteristics of equipment and systems.•  Perform post-fight inspection of the aircraft.•  Regularly check aircraft's performance and position.Must have 2 years exp. as a Flight Instructor and/or First Officer, Must have FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate - Airplane Single-Engine Land, FAA Instrument Rating (and instrument proficiency check completed within past 6 months), FAA First Class Medical, and FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. Must have 1,200 flying hours, 500 cross-country hours, 100 hours of night flying, and 75 hours of instrument flying.Travel required Daily travel will be based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico airport. Travel includes and is not limited to the following states: Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Maine,Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, DC, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, California, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and following international destinations: Anguilla, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbuda, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canouan (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Nevis, St. Barts, St. Croix, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Turks and Caicos, Union Island, and Canada.Email resumes to mariab@flytradewind.com
