CORT Director of Operations in Capitol Heights, Maryland
Overview
Are you an experienced, people-oriented leader who’s passionate about operations? Do you have a background in warehouse management, logistics, and distribution? We’re looking to expand the leadership team in our district by bringing on a Director of Operations. This individual will direct the warehouse and distribution operations in one of CORT’s largest districts, ensuring that they are contributing to the overall success of the company.

Pay: $110, 000- $120,000 per year based
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities
Provide leadership for a team of managers, supervisors, and hourly associates; hire, train, and develop staff
Oversees the control, condition, and security of inventory
Responsible for ensuring a great customer experience beginning with proper staging, loading and unloading of product. Assures systems are in place for proper preparation of product for shipment through delivery
Approves the scheduling, routing, and control of all trucking activity
Oversees truck leasing, maintenance, and safety as well as related record keeping functions, i.e. annual MVR check of drivers, monthly safety reports.
Leads safety efforts and ensures that safety standards are adhered to in all areas of the warehouse. Provides necessary safety education, including OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, monthly safety meetings, videos etc.
Leads inventory compliance efforts, ensuring accurate and timely cycle counts, as well as other procedural operations to account for inventory, i.e. accurate paperwork, appropriate driver notes, etc.
Provides management reports as necessary; partners with senior leadership for future planning
Purchases (as relates to the activities of department,) budgets, and manages to the budget
Customer service and relationship building with clients
Qualifications
10+ years business experience; 4 year college degree preferred
Experience with logistics, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management
Previous experience in operations/warehouse management roles with proven track record and history of advancement
Ability to self-direct and work independently
Familiarity with DOT regulations or route management software is a plus
Valid state driver’s license
